The End of Boon

Posted on 07 April 2008

Hugely Popular Japanese Streetwear magazine, Boon, has come to an end. Reaching staggering heights of 800,000 print runs in the 90’s, 2007 saw the runs decline as low as 50,000 copies, after a steady decline in the overall Japanese Magazine marketplace, but also for Boon’s stronghold on a trend no longer attracting as much hype, Vintage American Clothing, this saw the magazine rebrand in 2007 as ‘B’, with a new focus, but it seemed to little too late. Is this a sign of Print Magazines in general, or something more acute. Info from META no TAME via Jean Snow.
