Junya Watanabe MAN collaborates with Lacoste, working on their classic polo. 4 colours were released for part of the Junya Watanabe MAN 2008 spring/summer collection. The red and blue polo possesses a tonal logo where the Lacoste label blends in with the colour of the polo, whereas the yellow and pink polo are very similar to Lacoste in-line polos.

For as long as i can remember., infact from the time Junya Watanabe established his own Comme Des Garcon’s brand after his tenoir under Rei Kawakubo, the colabs have flowed at the highest standard. I watched a documentary once where he explained the reasons for his love ot combining his aesthetic and styling with other traditional manufacturers, his thoughts were heavily based around a philosophy of "why re-invent something thats already great" and thats been my own personal philosophy on why and how colabs should be done since. This season see’s Junya Watanabe combine forces with Lacoste, a perfect example of how this philosophy works, Lacoste are most famous for their tennis inspired Polo shirts, and Watanabe has merely added his touch to them. The items released at Re Inforce and other Japanese retailers also include colabs with Dickies and Levis.
