Legendary Crass artist Gee Vaucher debuted an exceptionaly thorough and impressive retrospective exhibit of her work, some fantastic work of the British punk band was on show along with some more intimate personal paintings at Jack Hanley Gallery in San Francisco last month. Vaucher fabricated images as demanding and message-focused as the proto-hardcore music the band was creating on stage in the late 70’s when Crass was in full swing. Vaucher’s work at the time for Crass put her in high esteem along with artist’s like Raymond Pettibon and Winston Smith and really set her on her way to become a great artist, this exhibition is on show until January 19th so be quick.
