I've read further into this and it seems there is confusion over whether the dog actually died, and some say it was set free in a better state than in which it was found. But regardless of this and the artist trying to make some kind of statement about the media or the treatment of animals or people in real life, to me it is a step too far. Of course it makes some kind of statement on the perversity of art gallery's and the media but there's a million way's to express this without starving a terrified dog in the corner of a bare concrete room. Mr Vargas is an extremely arrogant individual if he presumes adding to the abuse of animals is a cost worth paying to bestow his artistic vision on the world or make a point. FUCK THIS! As much as you would like to be the next Damien Hirst Mr Vargas you are definitely not. Whats the point in creating a name for yourself if the name is cunt?
