China v Japan or Schumacher v Battiston

Posted by Slam Team on February 20, 2008 8:22 PM | Email

Watched Japan play China last night in very hostile conditions, Japan actually played North Korea in China (for obvious reasons) few days ago and received the same taunts from a crowd which was mainly Chinese. Personaly I have not seen much like this before, I thought society let alone professional football had come along way but this was bad every time the Japanese team touched the ball the Chinese players looked like they were at war with the Samurai kicking and elbowing which resembled that of a match in South America which we are used to. I am aware of the past between the two nations but when you watch the video below you can see what it was like, unlike Schumacher when he poalaxed Frances Battiston at the World Cup in 1982 and knocked him unconscious the Chinese keeper clearly adjusts himself to actually kick the Japanese stricker and cause as much damage as possible... he did receive a yellow card which is more punishment that what Shumacher got but 'c'mon'.
