So according to Pantone, “Blue Iris” is the color of the year for 2008. They describe it as: “Combining the stable and calming aspects of blue with the mystical and spiritual qualities of purple, Blue Iris satisfies the need for reassurance in a complex world, while adding a hint of mystery and excitement.”

Personally I’m not really sure how a forecasting committee comes up with a so called “color of the year.” I thought it was a bit silly but i decided to test out this infamous color anyways by applying it to a few photos i took in the last few day since it was the first few pictures i snapped in this new year.

Well I’m going to guess we’re probably going to see a bunch of clothing, gadgets, advertisements and maybe even a concept car or two that uses “Blue Iris” later on this year. Since that usually is how the big companies decide what they are going to paint things. But let me know what you think of the color...
