Growing up, on my sneaker shit, I was most excited when something new dropped. "New", as in, never made before. Whether it was waiting to watch the All Star game for a glimpse into next years shoes or maybe an album cover or video putting me on to something, "new" is what made me want to buy. That certainly isn't the case today. "New" really doesn't exist... And I am not a retro sneaker hater because I rock my forces and J's but something new would be nice (waiting to see the AJ23 in person).
Now switching up colors and materials on AF1's every season is great and all but, I can't front on the AJF12, there was some real work done here. The Jordan ribbon on the back, the black toe, removable strap, the AJ12 tongue and the stitched pattern on the upper made this joint "fuck-wit-able". I know it's getting mixed revues but I genuinely dig it. 2 olds make a new?
The Air Force 1 and Alpha Force marriage was something that had to grow on me. I grabbed it the day it came into Concepts and literally put it away and didn't look at it again until I brought home the AJF12. Now these shoes are not "new" but have "new" spins on classics that go beyond just a color way. I am not saying they will all work but I could rock with these.
The kid in me still wants something new... you know, as in "never made before"... but these will do for now.
