Sometimes we are so involved in our own interests and so caught up with our own grinds that we forget that there is more to life than parties, sneakers and fitteds.
While you are online today, between checking fashion blogs, look into the "Jena 6" situation. "Jena 6" refers to 6 Black students that are charged with various crimes in Jena, Louisiana, following a “racial incident” at their predominantly white high school.
It's sad that in 2008, 40 years after the death of Martin Luther King, that racism and racially motivated hate is still alive. I've had conversations with Bun B about him growing up in Port Author, Texas and him putting me on to racial situations that seemed to be straight out of a movie. Where I grew up, it was pretty diverse. My neighborhood was mostly Black and Hispanic but it was nothing to hang with White kids or walk through predominantly White neighborhoods. This is the not the case in many areas of our country... even in 2008.
The kids in Jena, Louisiana live a different life and the town of Jena seems to have a twisted court system.
Look into it.... the limited edition sneakers and tees will be here when you get back. I promise.

Justice for the Jena 6.
