I came across this piece in the Independent the other day...Ok it is a bit of a Lomo Advertorial, & yes I am adding to said advertorial...but the story is good.
People are buying more Old School Camera's these days...the back lash to all the mass of Digital Photographers out there...something to bring a little difference into the mix.
A little more excitement perhaps...the anticipation of seeing your image coming back from the lab, or if you are so clued up, your darkroom experience.
With the Death of Polaroid still echoing though the industry, we have more wanting the old....
I am taking to it more & more, as my bank balance is showing, but you do get a little something more...the colours are sometimes more richer....realer, & in some cases so abstract that Digital could never emulate. ( See Neil, Master I am turning...)
I love all this as it is about the individual...it is about you & your subject matter, not the equipment you have...it is about what I can do with what I have.
All the Various Lomo Camera's allow you to experiment at quite a reasonable price, & the results 75% of the time are more than what you expected....my favourite Lomo Camera is the HORIZON (the link is to the new & improved...I still got the Old School)...I love this camera.
Here is another little plug...you might find me at the Lomo Open Mic event this week, showing a few of my Horizon Pictures & doing some chatting....come down...should be good.
