We're back at it again...
Here's a better look at the hand-screened deck we're releasing sometime in Jan 2008. I got studied into this culture early through skating, it was a long dream of mine to make it my living, i started at the age of 10, the making it my living part didn't really work out... i still remember my hand me down natas board with the deep concaves and single tail from a very old friend of mine David, he had the sickest pair of black Vision Street Wear sneakers with the ollie flap intact..
*can't believe i found this image online.. circa 1987
heh heh the kids were already using the new double decks then but i couldn't really afford one so i learned my first ollie on a real heavy monster, it did set me up to get my pops for pretty phat ollies later on. Darn do slightly miss the old days, the menace we caused heh, it was a lifestyle for us back then we'd spend days on end out on the streets, then take showers in the local public swimming pools, i remember the old skater pub hang-out 'Zeus' if my memory doesn't fail me on the name. Oh did an array of characters come from our generation, Singapore's first Singapore Idol no shitting, Taufik will tell you about our swimming pool stories it was a blast.., Mark famed customizer SBTG, Andy that i believe is Art Director at Surrender now, Ninja (D.J Koflow) Singapore DMC Champion and famed local d.j, Faud Singapore's Malay Idol, Chris Haslem grew up shredding here and i know i'm missing out on a whole lot more that have gone to make a name for themselves both locally and internationally.. Back then Singapore was a haven for skating, the streets were un-capped and the architecture complimented us very well. Still remember the first fuct tee i owned.. ohh.. good ol days!
Our photographer Yazer Aziz popped by yesterday to snap some works for some upcoming press we have, he shot this magnificent image of Baal.. i just had to share!
