HAZE STUDIOS OPENING

Posted by DANTE ROSS on November 16, 2007 2:29 PM | Email

Popped over to my OG friend Eric Hazes's grand opening of his studio in Brooklyn last night. I can remember 3 years ago in LA when Haze and me were in front of the Nike House in Venice beach looking at the ocean talking about life while Chad Muska was shredding right in front of us. As we burned one and talked about life, LA and what was next for us he told me he was going to make the move back east . Let me back track a little, me and Haze went to LA in 86 the first time he had ever been there and basically he never came back. We were there on a mission to get the Beastie Boys a skateboard deal which semi came to fruition but thats a totally different story altogether. Regardless Haze made LA his home and I was there when that came into effect and was with him when he voiced his want to return back to the mecca NYC. I have to say I'm honored to know the man, he's been a big influence on my life in terms of wanting to accomplish and create, to leave a tangible mark so to speak on the culture and the world in which we reside besides being one of the greatest thinkers I know.  And you know what? The guy threw one hell of an opening. To my brother from another CONGRATS!

Haze and me sharing the love!

....

The Design shop!

.....

The people......The amazing Lee Quiones,Me, LivingRoom Johnston and Haze....I'm not worthy! Lee is the one person I get start struck by, as I kid I walked around the LES looking at his handball courts and just was inspired by alot of his work. I mean the guy stared in Wild Style how much iller does it get?

Mare and Cey City aka Cedrick Adams....Cey was one of the dudes who put me on back in the days...I always looked up to Cey he had amazing style and is just a really nice person. We played alot of Bball at west 4th when we were younger and Mare I mean the guys a genuis basically what more can I say....These are 2 real OG's in this culture respect due!

..

Logo's son read em and weep!

.

The piece of all pieces....Basquit hanging on the walls ya heard.......Note how Dondi's name got crossed out and Erics written over it....Man thats some classic stuff right there talk about history. I cant do the story behind this one justice I'll leave it in the Haze vault of storys!

Music makes the world go round DJ Soul and JusBlaze getting busy!

Haze and Revolt RTW 2 OG"s and keep it real RTW had the illest handstyles ever....Thats the crew I looked up to as a kid and somehow I got lucky enough to be down! RTW ( Rolling Thunder Writeres aka Rock The World) were mythical in my youth and these were two of the reasons why!

......

And this is here for me basically because it releates to the first time Haze went to Cali it was for the ASR show and shortly there after we lost him for more than 10 tears to the left coast. I'm psyched to have my brother from another back! for good! Congrats on the opening the real core of this culture in which we reside were in attendance to celebrate our friend and comrade Eric Haze! congrats my man this was an awsome night and celebration of one of the people who invented this culture!
