Here is an interesting clip courtesy of Current TV. It is an exclusive clip from The Cool School, which is a documentary about pop art movement that took place in Los Angeles. The Ferus Gallery, owned by Walter Hopps and Irving Blum, was the epicenter for the movement as it enabled some of the most prominent artists from New York to come here and show while establishing a presence in LA. The Ferus Gallery was the first gallery to devote a solo show for Andy Warhol, as his Soup Cans were exhibited and sold for $100 each. The gallery owner latere purchased the whole lot of them for $1,000 and kept them together until they were ultimately sold for millions of dollars.
