Celebrating Converse 1HUND(RED) Artists, Converse held its "Conversations" event in New York City Thursday March 27. DJs included the legendary Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) as the headliner in addition to a special DJ set by the British production and mix team Simian Mobile Disco and artist/DJ Spencer Sweeney. The event featured a high-level showcase of artist contributions with special installations by prominent New York based artists and 1HUND(RED) Artist contributors Rostarr, Rinzen and Michael Schall. Converse 1HUND(RED) Artists is an unprecedented global curation project designed to further support Converse's partnership with (RED). Using Converse as a blank canvas, each artist, tasked with the creation of an original design, developed unique shoes that range from playful, graphic cartoon character images to designs that emphasize the importance of the project's mission. Original artwork and final production footwear was showcased, including prominent artists from around the world, including Rostarr (USA), Rinzen (USA), Michael Schall (USA), Hiroshi Fujiwara (Japan), Jeremyville (Australia), Michael White for Dondi White (USA), Colletivo Design (Brazil), Grandpeople (Norway), Supakitch (France) and UPSO (USA). 10% of the net wholesale price of these shoes goes to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Geneva, Switzerland). Michael Schall's shoe will be available nationwide at specialty retailers beginning in June. Other designs are available at specialty retailers and select department stores and online at www.converse.com.

Check out mages from the event below which was graced by the presence of the likes of Kostas, Kaws, Wade Erik, Reas, David Hershkovitz of Paper Magazine, Alexandra Richards amongst many other big names.
