Japan's Connect Auctions

I saw news of Connect Auctions on Honeyee and thought it looked interesting, some amazing pieces up for auction, especially from Charles and Ray Eames,Phillipe Starck and others... I discovered while this is a Japanese orientated Auction house, you can bid from outside of Japan and they even offer a live ebay feed. You can check out more about how you can bid here and the items up for auction here in its first auction 26th November.

Connect-Auction (“Connect”) is the first Japan-based design auction house, specializing in 20th century and contemporary furniture and designs. Maintaining the advantage of the home ground, Connect features the distinctive Japanese designers such as SHIRO KURAMATA and SORI YANAGI, and also remarkably, one of the world’s most innovative and versatile designers, MARC NEWSON. In 1987 Newson launched his career in Tokyo to design for TERUO KUROSAKI, the Japanese design entrepreneur, putting his best-known pieces, such as 'enbryo chair', 'orgone lounge', 'black hole' table, and 'felt' chair into production. Kurosaki also helped a string of designers including PHILIPPE STARCK and SHIRO KURAMATA gain international recognition. We will continually highlight the masterpieces contributed by Kurosaki, as well as the designs produced by the distinguished Japanese manufactures including TENDO. On this first auction, the limited item of PHILLIP STARCK in the 1980's is on sale with the prototype. Moreover,
MARC NEWSON’s rare colored 'enbryo chair' and 'super guppy lamp' are on show.

With these features above, we hold the sales of the world’s influential designs including:
US MODERN-CHARLES & RAY EAMES, GEORGE NELSON; FRENCH MODERN-JEAN PROUVE, CHARLOTTE PERRIAND, SERGE MOUILLE; DANISH MODERN-ARNE JACOBSEN, FINN JUHL, HANS J. WEGNER; RADICAL ITEMS- ARCHIZOOM ASSOCIATI, SUPERSTUDIO; POST MODERN-MEMPHIS; AND FURTHER COLLECTIONS FROM 80'S- PHILLIPPE STARCK AND RON ARAD.
